Labels…

We flaunt them with fashion, peel them off of beer bottles, scrutinize them on food packages, dare the penalty of law and cut them off pillows and shun the HELLO MY NAME IS at conferences. Labels are in every aspect of our lives, but none are more powerful than the ones we give or accept for ourselves…

Here are a few of mine; Daughter, sister, aunt, Godmother, master, Ms., teacher, nurse, RN, Bristolian, high school grad, Diploma Grad, Atwood 5 South nurse, blogger, photographer, gleek, control freak, craft challenged, peanut butter junky, Portuguee, first born, Aries,Taoist…. I’m sure you get the picture! The point is we really aren’t any of those labels! They are titles we’ve accumulated either from birth or paths we chose to walk. We can’t let labels define who we are, if we do, we don’t really know ourselves – Only what we do, and how we represent our persona, not our hearts and certainly not our souls…

So who are you? Practice truth in labeling…
